Meet The Rua, an Irish country-pop-rock trio consisting of sisters Roseanna (lead vocals, guitar) and Alanna (piano, backing vocals) and brother Jonathan Brown (violin, vocals, guitar). 

Though they all grew up in Windsor, Berkshire, their family roots are all from Ireland, where they spent a lot of their time growing up, playing music, and taking part in music competitions. You can clearly hear the emotionally charged truth of their Irish roots in many of their songs, creating wonderful blends of vocal and musical harmonies. 

All three siblings were classically trained on piano, violin, and voice, and they started performing together at a very young age. The trio formed as a band in 2011 and started writing their own material together. Since they come from such a musical family, they’ve been inspired by many types and styles of music. If you ask them, their musical influences seeped into their bones at a very early age and their taste in music and their knowledge of music runs wide and deep, extremely impressive for such young artists.

Bands like Fleetwood Mac, U2, Coldplay, The Cranberries, Snow Patrol, Taylor Swift, and Adele, to name just a few, have definitely had a musical impact on The Rua, so their songs are easily relatable regardless of your age. 

Billboard named The Rua one of Tomorrow’s Hits, and their current hit single, “Without You,” is off their latest album, “Essence,” which was released in May 2016. 

“Without You” tells an intimate story about being independent and knowing that you can trust in yourself to get on with your own life. 

Listening to their songs, one realizes that The Rua have an unbreakable family bond, giving them confidence in each other and us confidence in them − to connect with us, to create music for us, which inspires us to feel good, no matter what we’re going through.
