Team Jamis-Hagens Berman presented by Sutter Home Maintains Lead
St. Helena, Calif., May 16, 2013 – Sutter Home Family Vineyards is celebrating that Team Jamis-Hagens Berman presented by Sutter Home, holds the overall lead in the 2013 Amgen Tour of California bicycle race, one of the largest and most recognized annual cycling events in the US. The 750 mile road race features elite professional teams and athletes from around the globe. This year, 16 of the world’s top professional cycling teams are racing across California highways and roadways – running south to north for the first time. In the final minutes of Monday’s race, after a grueling hill climb in 114 degree heat, team Jamis-Hagens Berman cyclist Janier Acevedo took the 2nd stage win and overall race lead. Acevedo has remained in this lead for the past three stages.
“Both Carine Joannou, [Owner of Jamis Bikes] and I have been watching this team get stronger each year, and are thrilled to see their passion, team work and efforts recognized on the podium.
