It’s time to drop the heavy coats and slip on the sandals. There will be warm sunshine for lounging, green-grass picnics, vibrant tulip landscapes, and backyard barbecues for all. Spring is finally here – the season we’ve all been looking forward to.

To embrace the arrival of spring, we reached out to our winemakers to chat all about Sutter Home’s wines. After all, nothing says sweet springtime like springtime sipping. From sweet to slightly sweet to dry, we put together this “Springtime Wine Guide” to help you discover the flavors of our wines to complement your favorite foods and tastes.

Flavor Scale

Sweet

Pink Moscato – Caramel aromas, flavors of passion fruit and melon with a hint of vanilla.

Moscato – Rose, lychee fruit, and peach flavors with tastes of honeydew melon.

Red Moscato – Similar sweetness of regular Moscato with a hint of berry and rich cherry.

Chardonnay Moscato – Pear, apple, citrus, and vanilla flavors with a touch of peaches and melons.

Bubbly Pink Moscato ​– Sweet creamy melon, mango, and honey flavors.

Riesling Moscato – Floral aromas and juicy summer peach flavors with a touch of creamy apricots and melons.

Medium Sweet

Sweet Red – Bright, creamy, lush flavors with fresh cherries and juicy peaches.

Riesling – Floral fragrances, rich melons, and summer peaches.

Gewurztraminer – Lychee fruit, white peaches, and rose petals, with a hint of rich allspice.

White Zinfandel – Fresh and lively with tastes of strawberry and melon.

Chenin Blanc – Fresh pear, apple, melon, peach, and honeydew flavors.

White Merlot – A lighter, friskier Merlot with juicy cherry notes and a hint of raspberries.

Medium Dry

Chardonnay – Crisp and smooth with a variety fresh fruit flavors.

Sauvignon Blanc – Fresh honeydew melon, grapefruit, and passion fruit aromas.

Pinot Grigio – Fresh floral aromas and flavors of white peach, melon, citrus, and tropical fruits.

Sangria – Juicy berry and citrus flavors, with just a hint of spice.

Red Blend – A smooth blend of Zinfandel, Merlot, and Cabernet, with notes of vanilla and spicy oak.

Malbec – Bold blackberry, blueberry, and dark cherry flavors with hints of spice and toasty oak.

Dry

Sauvignon Blanc – Lively and welcoming, this is a great all-purpose wine. Fresh honeydew melon, grapefruit, and passion fruit aromas with a bit of spice.

Pinot Noir – Violet, black cherry, and raspberry aromas set the stage for cherry cola and berry jam flavors with hints of spice.

Merlot – Black cherry flavors and hints of smoke and herbal spice.

Cabernet Sauvignon – Rich cherry flavors and toasty vanilla touches.

Bubbly Brut – Green apple and pear aromas, tropical fruit flavors, and notes of toasted almond.
