Turkey Burger

I came up with this recipe with what was available in my fridge. Of course there are all sorts of alterative items that could be used, whatever you may like. Due to how soft ground turkey is, it's really important that breadcrumbs are used, they will really hold the burger together on the grill. Also, with the cheese and mustard in the burger, I believe that there is no need for any other condiments to used.


2 1/2 lbs. of Ground Turkey (92%lean)
1 cup grated Montery Jack cheese
6 green onions, sliced thin
1/2 cup dried breadcrumbs
1/2 cup dijon mustard
3 garlic cloves, minced (1 reserved)
salt & pepper
Olive Oil


Combine all. Form patties -1 inch thick. On a lightly oiled grill. Sear on the hottest part,about 2 minutes. Move to the cooler part and cook through, about 7-10 minutes per side. Brush rolls?buns with olive oil and reserved clove of garlic. Toast on grill. Serve burger with tomato & lettuce. (I prefer spinach)
