The Wood Sicilian burger

Pairs well with:

White Zinfandel

With strawberry and melon essences, this American original is perfectly at home with however you like to unwind.

Ingredients

Grilling Spray
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
3 cloves minced garlic
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
1/4 cup chopped fresh italian parsley
1 egg
1/2 cup roasted garlic bread crumbs
1 cup vodka marinara sauce
1 cups chopped marinated artichoke hearts
1 cup fresh mozzarella balls (sliced thin)
6 Ciabatta rolls

 

Instructions

1. Preheat a gas grill to high. 2. To make the patties, combine in a mixing bowl the 1 1/2 pounds beef, 3 minced cloves of garlic, 1/4 chopped fresh basil, 1/4 cup chopped fresh italian parsley, 1 egg, and 1/2 cup roasted garlic bread crumbs. Make sure to mix all the ingredients together well. 3. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and form the portions into patties that will fit the ciabatta rolls. 4. When the grill is ready, spray and brush the rack with the Pam Grilling Spray. 5. Place the patties on the rack and allow them to grill until the internal temperature reaches 150 degrees. Flip occasionally. 6. Once the burgers have reached that temperature place about a tablespoon of the vodka marinara sauce on top of each patty. 7. Next, over the sauce spread about a tablespoon of the marinated artichokes. 8. Finally, top with enough fresh mozzarella to cover the sauce and artichokes you just placed on the burger. 9. Place a lid over the patties and allow the mozzarrella cheese to melt (5-8 minutes.) 10. Well the patties are finishing cut the ciabatta bread length wise and get ready to place the burgers onto the rolls. If you have any remaining vodka sauce feel free to spread the extra over the top and bottom of the rolls. 11. Once burgers have finished and the cheese is melted add the burgers to the ciabatta rolls. Add the roll tops and serve. The burgers will be easier to handle if you cut them in half before serving.
