2 lbs 80% lean ground chuck
½ cup diced sweet onion
½ cup diced red bell pepper
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon fresh cracked black pepper
1 ¼ cup shredded mozzarella and provolone mixed cheese Vegetable oil for brushing the grill rack
6 soft Kaiser rolls, approximately 4 ½” diameter, split
8oz container of Hummus with roasted garlic
6 tablespoons light sour cream
Iceberg lettuce leaves

Instructions

Light your gas grill on to high To prepare the patties combine the ground chuck, sweet onion, bell pepper, salt, fresh cracked black pepper, and shredded cheese in a medium mixing bowl. Mix this gently with your hands. Be careful only to blend until the mix is uniform so as not to compress the beef. Then shape the mixture into 6 round patties approximately 4 ½” diameter. Turn the grill temperature down to medium before you start the patties. Brush the grill rack with the vegetable oil so the burgers do not stick on the grill rack. Place the patties on the rack, cover and grill until brown on the bottom approximately 5 minutes. Turn the patties over and continue grilling until done to your preference, about 5 minutes more for a medium burger and 10 for a well-done burger. With around 5 minutes left in your burger-cooking place the rolls on the grill cut side down for a light toasting. To assemble the burgers remove the rolls and shut the burner off on the grill. Spread 1 tablespoon of the light sour cream on the bottom of the roll. Next place the patty down on the bottom of the roll. A leaf of iceberg lettuce tops the burger. Now place a generous amount of the hummus on the cut side of the top of the roll and place on the top of the burger and serve.
