That's Amore' Burger

This burger was created from my love of homemade meatballs. I took the concept of a great spaghetti and meatball dinner and turned it into this Italian hamburger that would tempt even the most discriminating Italian palate. And so, the "That's Amore" Burger, was created. If anything else, my family and I now have a unique and delicious burger to serve our guests. I hope you enjoy!

1 1/2 pounds of ground chuck
1/2 pound of ground lamb
1 pack of Italian Dressing Mix
1/2 cup of Italian bread crumbs
1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
2 eggs
1/4 cup Sutter Home Cabernet Sauvignon
2 teaspoons of oregano
1 Tablespoon + 1 teaspoon fresh minced garlic
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 prepared split loaf of garlic bread
6 ounce can of basil, garlic, and oregano tomato paste
6 slices of parmesan cheese
12 large fresh basil leaves

Set gas grill on medium low temperature. For the patties: Combine the ground chuck, lamb, pack of Italian dressing mix, Italian bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, 2 eggs, wine, oregano, minced garlic, garlic salt, and pepper. Mix until well incorporated and form into 6 equal rectangle shaped patties. Grill 7 minutes on each side or until desired doneness. Remove burgers from grill, wrap in foil, and set aside. For the buns: Set grill to low heat. Place each half of prepared garlic bread, garlic side down, on the grill. Close lid. Grill 3 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Remove from grill and spread half of the 6 ounce can of tomato paste on each garlic side of the loaf. Place back on grill, paste side down, close grill and grill for 1 minute. Remove from grill, put loaf back together and slice into 6 equal portions. For the burger: Place hamburger patty on each bottom piece of garlic bread. On top of each patty place a generous slice of parmesan cheese, followed by 2 large basil leaves, and top with remaining piece of garlic bread. Makes 6 "That's Amore" Burgers
