That 70’s Burger

This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.

Ingredients

Topping:
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup chutney
1/2 red onion, finely chopped
Patties:
1 1/2 lbs. ground chuck
1/2 red onion, finely chopped
4 Tbl. basil, finely chopped
4 Tbl. Worcestershire
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
1/2 cup macadamia nuts, chopped and toasted
6 slices cheddar cheese
1/2 cup chutney
6 good quality seeded buns
2 cups shredded romaine lettuce
vegetable oil, for grill butter, softened

 

Instructions

Topping: In a small bowl combine mayonnaise, 1/2 cup chutney and 1/2 red onion finely chopped, set aside. Patties: In a large bowl combine ground chuck, 1/2 red onion finely chopped, 4 Tbl. chopped basil, 4 Tbl. Worcestershire, salt, and ground black pepper. Mix well and form into 6 patties. Slice 6 cheddar cheese slices. Shred lettuce. Brush buns with butter. Prepare grill, getting grill to medium high temperature and; Chop macadamia nuts and place in a saute pan. Place on grill and toast lightly. Set aside. Brush grill with vegetable oil, add patties and cook until done. At this time add 1 Tbl. chutney to each burger, add chopped nuts to each burger and place a slice of cheddar on top, melt cheese. Put buttered buns on grill and lightly toast. To assemble: On each bun, spread a mixture of topping on each side. Add shredded lettuce to bottom side of bun, top with burger, spread topping on top side of bun and place on burger.
