smokein an savory sirloin

Really the reason that I have done this recipe was the fact that I watched this on the food network and thought it would be fun to try. And I thought what it could hurt to try.


Two pounds ground Sirloin
1 1/2 cartoons white button mushrooms chopped, sautéed in white wine and butter
1 tablespoon cumin
1/2 tablespoon coriander {ground}
1/2 tablespoon mustard seed
1/2 tablespoon celery seed
1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
1 1/2 bunch green onion chopped
Slices of provalone cheese
Sautéed mushrooms
Onion rolls
spray olive oil


In pan on grill, {or heavy tin foil} sauté mushrooms in white wine and butter. When they are done chop them into smaller pieces, also at this time chop the green onion. {In chopper} In mixing bowl mix meat, spices, mushrooms, green onion, leaveing about a cup of extra mushrooms to the side of topping off the patties. Mix very well. Make 6 patties that are palm size, spray grill with olive oil. Cook for 20 to 23 350 to 360. While patties are cooking, in skillet on grill {or heavy tin foil} cook bacon so that it is cooked thought but not to crisp. With the last five min of cooking time place cheese on patties so that it melts. Place cooked patties on onion rolls with mayo on the top and bottom of the roll, place bacon and Extra mushrooms. Serve hot


This was my first try into food contest I hope that it at least has you thinking that this mite be good. My family thinks it taste great. {God knows they have had to try it enough}
