Shrimp Alfredo Burger

Shrimp Alfredo "My Way" is one of my many signature dishes requested by family and friends alike. I have contemplated on what type of burger I could make that would not only taste good and look good, but would display creativity as well, and what better choice than a Shrimp Alfredo Burger. I hope you enjoy this as much as my and I. The following recipe contains 15 ingredients, most of which I use in both the sauce and the burger.

Alfredo Sauce
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 garlic cloves, minced
4 portabella mushroom caps, finely chopped
8 sun-dried tomatoes finely chopped
5 shrimp finely chopped
1 quart of heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup of Pinot Grigio
2 cups grated parmesean cheese
2 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons pepper
2lbs Ground Beef
20 medium size shrimp, cut in half
1/2 cup Pinot Grigio
1 cup portabella mushrooms caps, chopped
3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1/4 cup of scallions(white part only), finely chopped
8 sun-dried tomatoes cut in fours
3 tablespoons garlic salt
2 tablespoons pepper
2 tablespoons dried basil leaves
6 Asiago Foccacia rolls split in half
Non-Stick cooking spray for grill rack

Prepare a medium to high fire in either a gas grill or a charcoal grill. In a medium saucepan on the grill melt butter in the sauce recipe, add minced garlic cloves, finely chopped mushrooms, finely chopped sun-dried tomatoes, and chopped shrimp...sautee for 1 minute. Add heavy cream, and wine...bring to a boil then allow to simmer for 1 minute before adding the parmesean cheese. Stir cheese and add salt and pepper. Set aside until needed. Sauce will thicken as it sits. Butter the inside of the rolls, top and bottom then sprinkle with garlic salt. Set aside. For patties incorporate shrimp, wine, chopped mushrooms, chopped garlic, scallions, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic salt, pepper, and basil. Mix well but do not over mix, just enough to combine all ingredients. Divide meat and make 6 flat patties, patties will swell up on the grill. With a brush apply oil to grill racks. Place patties on the rack and cook 6 to 8 minutes on each side. A few minutes before removing the burgers place the rolls on grill butter side down and grill until lightly toasted. Remove bread and spread alfredo sauce on the cut sides of both top and bottom breads then place patty on bun and top with alfredo sauce. Place top bread on burger, serve, and enjoy.

When mixing the shrimp and sun-dried tomatoes, you may need to put them in place on the patty so that they may be evenly distributed throughout. Do this only if there seems to be more shrimp or tomatoes on one side of the patty.
