Salsa Burger

An easy burger to prepare that packs a lot of flavor.

4 Avocados
1 tbsp Lemon Juice
1 tsp Salt Small White Onion
Large Roma Tomato
2 lbs Ground Beef
1 Package (1.25 oz) Taco Seasoning
2 tsp Sal
t 3 tsp Fresh Ground Black Pepper
Vegetable Oil, for brushing grill rack
6 Kaiser Rolls
6 oz Taco Sauce
Pepper Jack Cheese
Medium Red Onion
12 oz Salsa

To make guacamole roll avocados on counter top to soften flesh. Cut open with knife and spoon into medium bowl. Add lemon juice and salt. Mix by hand until most (not all) lumps are removed. Dice onion and tomato. Mix into guacamole. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Prepare grill to a medium-hot fire. To make patties combine beef and taco seasoning in a large bowl, season with salt and pepper. Mix just enough so seasoning is well distributed. Divide into 6 equal portions and flatten into patties. When the grill is ready, brush with vegetable oil. Place the patties and rolls (cut side down) on grill rack. Cover and cook. Remove rolls and set aside when they are lightly toasted. Cook patties 4 - 5 minutes and turn over. Brush each burger with taco sauce. Cook for an additional 4 - 5 minutes for medium rare. Slice pepper jack cheese and place a generous slice on each burger within the last 30 seconds of cooking. To assemble burgers spread guacamole on the bottom portion of each roll. Place burger on top of guacamole. Place thin slice of red onion on burger and top with salsa. Cover with roll top and serve. Makes 6 burgers

This burger is almost as easy to make as the standard cheeseburger. The ingredients are very common and easy to work with. Every time we make this burger it seems to be recreated. Mexican style condiments and ingredients are very flavorful and easy to mix and match.
