The Beaches are calling.

Ingredients:

2# Lean Ground Round
1/2 Cup Onions – Minced
2 Tbl Garlic – Minced
2 Tbl Worshire Sauce
1 Tbl Hot Sauce
Salt and Pepper to Taste
1 9oz Box Frozen Spinach – Thawed, Drained and Divided into 6 Portions
Vegetable Oil Spray for Grill Rack
6 Raw Oysters
6 Round Sesame Sandwich Rolls – Split
6 Slices Mozzarella Cheese
4 Tbl Butter – Softened
1 Tbl Hot Sauce

Instructions:

Prepare a medium-hot fire in a charcoal grill with cover, or preheat gas or electric grill to medium-high.

In a large bowl combine the ground round, onions, garlic, worshire sauce, hot sauce, salt and pepper, mix well. Divide the mixture into 12 patties. Press each pattie to about 1/2″ thick.

On six of the patties place a raw oyster and 1 portion of the spinach, palce one of the other pattie on top and pinch around the edges to seal. You should have six patties with an oyster and spinach in the middle of each.

When the grill is hot, spray the rack with vegetable spray. Place the patties on the rack, cover and cook, turning once, until done, about 7 minutes on each side.

In a small bowl combine the butter and 1 Tbl of hot sauce. Spread the cut side of the rolls with the butter mixture and toast lightly on grill.

To assemble the burgers, place a patty and a slice of cheese between each prepared roll.

Makes 6 burgers.
