Pretzel and Beer Tavern Burger

Bright and full-bodied, this Zinfandel wine is a curious contradiction in tastes.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons Olive oil (for spreading on grill)
1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons of a spicy brown mustard
3/4 cup coarsly chopped, salted pretzels
2-3 splashes of beer (the kind you are drinking at the time)
thickly sliced cheddar cheese (one per pattie)
butter (for buns)
4 wheat buns (not seeded)
Lettuce (1 head, leaves pulled off)
Tomato (1 sliced thickly)
Ketchup

 

Instructions

Light grill to medium heat. Combine the ground beef, mustard, pretzels and beer. Form 4 patties. Brush grill with olive oil. Cook the patties on the grill to medium. Brush the wheat buns with butter and add to the grill insides down. Add cheddar cheese slices to patties for just a minute. Remove the buns, add lettuce leaves, tomato slice and cheese topped patty. Add ketchup and top of bun.
