Pesto Perfecto Burger

Ingredients

Mayonnaise
Mayo
Homemade pesto from a favorite recipe or store bought.
8 ounces vegetable oil for brushing on grill rack
2 pounds ground chuck
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Bold and Spicy steak sauce
6 hamburger buns organic white 
6 slices of asiago cheese
3/4 cup butter
6 slices red leaf lettuce 
6 slices of tomato
24 basil leaves
6 slices of onion white sweet Vidalia or Wala Wala

 

Instructions

Prepare a medium hot fire on a charcoal grill with a cover. Take 3 Tablespoons of bought or homemade pesto and mix with 1/2 cup mayonnaise.Mix well then place in refrigerator to keep cool. In a large bowl combine ground chuck with soup mix, worcestershire sauce,  steak sauce and rest of pesto. Mix well handling the meat as little as possible to prevent meat compacting. Divide the mixture in 6 equal portions and form to fit the rolls. When the grill is hot brush the grill rack with vegetable oil. Place patties on the rack and cook 4 minutes per side for mdium rare or longer for preference. Turn once during cooking and don't press down on patties because this will release the juices you want to stay inside. while burgers are cooking take rolls and butter both sides. During last minutes of cooking place cheese on all burgers and place cut sides of rolls down on outside edge of grill to toast lightly. After rolls are toasted place pesto mayonnaise on each cut side of roll. Then place hamburger on bottom roll. Top with lettuce onion tomato and basil leaves. top with bun tops and serve while hot.
