Olive you Burger

Pairs well with:

Zinfandel

Bright and full-bodied, this Zinfandel wine is a curious contradiction in tastes.

I love the combination of of salty and cheese together. This olive salsa that is used on the burgers has been an appetizer and I thought it would be great on a burger. We tried it one night at home with my family and it was a hit. We have 4 kids and they liked it too!

Ingredients:

Olive salsa
3 large tomatoes
6 ounces can of black olives
10 ounce jar of green olives and use half of the jar
4 green onions
3 tablespoons of olive oil
Place all of the ingredients in a food processor for 1 minute. Then take and set aside while you prepare the burgers.

Burgers
3 pounds of Ground Round that is 85% lean
1/4 cup of minced onion spice
1/2 tablespoon of Garlic powder spice
1/2 tablespoon ofLawry’s seasoning salt
Mix the Ground Round and the spices together in a bowl. I then make them into about a 1/2 pound burger.

2 tablespoons of olive oil
I used this to brush on each side of teh burger before I grill.

6 slices of Provolone cheese(the non smoked flavor)
6 white bakery fresh buns

Instructions:

I prehead the grill on high. It takes about 10 mintues and then I turn it down to medium low. I let cook for desired doneness. I prefer medium so I cook for 10 minutes.
I then remove the burgers from the grill and place on the bun. I add 1/4 cup of Olive salsa on top of the burger and spread it out. I then place one slice of Provolone cheese on top and the second bun on top. Enjoy!!!!
