Mushroom Red Wine Sauce Burger

Ingredients

3 Pounds Lean Ground Beef
1 tablespoon minced garlic
6 slices of American or Swiss Cheese
grill mate spray
Regular Hamburger Buns
4 tablespoons of butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1 cup dry red wine
Freshly ground pepper
(following used if needed to thicken sauce)
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1/4 cup water

 

Instructions

Spray grill with cooking spray, so burger will not stick Cook meat to following specifications. 1/2 – 3/4 in. thick Direct High 3-4 min./side 160 F (70 C) While burgers are grilling, make the following sauce on the grill using a saute' pan. Cook the following in Saute' pan over open grill. Melt the butter in a pan. Add olive oil, garlic, and parsley. Sauté until the garlic is lightly browned. Add mushrooms and wine. Cook about five minutes, stirring frequently until mushrooms are soft. Mix corn starch in water, and use to thicken sauce if needed. Add pepper to taste. Right before burgers are done, place cheese on top of burger to melt. Place burger on bun, and pour mushroom /red wine sauce over and serve.
