Merlot Mushroom Burger

We went to Sutter Home on our anniversary in 2001, I so fell in love with the place. I have pictures of the actual Home in my bathroom, which is decorated like a vineyard. It was such a blessing to go to the "Home" that made you feel at home!! Ever since I've been an avid fan of White Merlot. Alot of people haven't even heard of it in AZ, but I'm trying my best to spread the news!! My Merlot Mushroom Burger helps people taste what they're missing.

1 lb. ground beef
1 C Italian bread crumbs
2 T butter
1 C sliced mushrooms (or more)
1/2 C sliced onions
1 T flour
1 T garlic salt
1 C "Sutter Home White Merlot"
Hamburger buns
garnishes for burger (lettuce, mustard, etc.)

Make patties from mixing beef and Italian bread crumbs together. Put on BBQ and cook until they are the desired doneness. On the stove, melt butter in a medium sized pan. When melted, add in mushrooms and onions and let simmer for a time until onions begin to caramelize. When done, add the flour and let cook for a time to take away the uncooked taste. After the time, add the garlic salt and "White Merlot" to the pan. The mixture will become thick after letting it cook for a bit. Stir and watch until it looks done. Use your hamburger buns and put a burger, top with the "White Merlot" mushroom sauce and desired garnishes, and enjoy!!

This one tastes great and people who think they don't enjoy wine, since they're a bit different :-), love this recipe and ask to actually try the wine to go with it!!! Thanks Sutter Home for being such a great help in my kitchen!!
