Meet Me in the Middle Burger

This recipe combines Middle Eastern and Midwestern flavors.

Ingredients:

2.5 pounds of ground chuck
.5 pounds of ground lamb
1 tablespoon of tumeric
1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
1 tabespoon paprika
1/2 tablespoon cumin
1 tablespoon garlic powder
2 tablespoon dried mint leaves
3 medium shallots
1/3 cup red wine
12 dates
3 dried figs
6 pats butter
1 cup greek yogurt
8 ounces feta cheese
6 pitas

Instructions:

Combine meat . Add all powder spices.
Form into 6 patties.
Grill and turn burgers to internal temperature of 160 degrees. Add 1 serving of sweet butter to each burger.

Sweet butter-
In processor- have prepared-
Dates
Figs
Butter
Set aside and have chilled.

Wrap sliced shallots and wine in foil and have grilling while burgers are cooking.

Combine mint with yogurt.

Assembly-
Place pita bread on grill- 1 minute per side.
Cut 1- 2 inches of top of pita.
Place burger inside.
Add serving of butter.
Add 1-2 ounces of feta cheese
Add grilled onions.
Add 2 tablespoons of yogurt
