Luscious Crab Burger

This burger was created with the surf & turf lover in mind. I'm not the best cook in the world, but I have "cooked up" several grill recipes that are often requested by friends and family. The Luscious Crab Burger is my favorite!


2lbs. lean ground sirloin, coarsly ground
rock salt pepper
1 small sweet onion, finely chopped
1 tsp. chopped garlic
1 can of crab meat
fresh parsley
1 stalk celery-chopped
1 to 2 tablespoons of mayonaise
salt & pepper to taste
1 beefy tomato lettuce leaves
6 strips of bacon or substitute real bacon pieces
Large Kaiser or poppy seed buns


Meat Preparation 1. Form ground sirloin into 1 inch thick patties that will fit nicely onto the bun. 2. Dust each side of meat patty with coarse rock salt. Chill and cure for at least 1 hour. 3. Grill on medium heat until center is light pink....or to taste. Crab Preparation 1. Empty crab meat into small mixing bowl. Flake apart large chunks of crab. Add garlic, chopped onion,chopped celery, parsley, and mayonaise. Combine ingredients. Burger Assembly: 1. Lightly toast both top and bottom of bun. 2. Brush bottom bun with ligh layor of mayonaise. Top with lettuce leaf. 3. Place burger on top of lettuce. 4. Add thick slcie of beefy tomato. 5. Top with heaping spoonful of crab mixture. 6. Sprinkle crumbled bacon pieces on top of crab mixture. 7. Place top bun and enjoy.


Sometimes I add a dash of lemon juice to the crab mix. I do not add any other seasoning to the meat as the rock salt works wonders in bringing out all the natural flavors.
