Ingredients

1 1/2 lb ground sirloin
1/3 lb Italian sausage
1/2 tsp coarse ground black pepper
1 tsp Italian herb season
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 cup water
6 Onion hamburger buns
6 slices of mozzarella cheese
6 tsp marinara sauce w/mushroom and green pepper (I prefer the Classico brand)
6 slices of Provolone cheese
1 head Romaine heart lettuce
1/2 Vidalia onion sliced grilled

Instructions

Preheat gas grill on medium heat/or use charcoal grill.

To make the patties: Combine all the first six ingredients; the ground sirloin, the Italian sausage, ground black pepper, Italian seasoning, salt, and the water. Mix together well making sure not to over mix. Divide the mixture into 6 patties and grill on each side for about 7-8 minutes. While the burgers are cooking you can add the sliced onion to the grill to cook about 3 minutes. Split your bun and grill each side lightly.

To assemble your burger put the bottom burger bun down first, then the mozzarella cheese, meat, the marinara sauce (1 tsp per burger), provolone cheese, Romaine lettuce, onion, and the top bun. Makes 6 burgers.
