Italian Burger

This delicious recipe uses 85% beef with several italian favorites such as tomato sauce, mozzarella, fresh, ripe tomatoes, garlic, and olive oil, grilled medium rare and place on a fresh sesame seed bun.


1 lb. 85% ground beef
1/2 cup italian flavored bread crumbs
1/2 cup tomato sauce (from ready to use prepared sauce jar)
2 tablespoon minced garlic
1 lb fresh mozzarella
1 garden red ripe tomato
1 sliced onion
1 fresh package sesame seed buns


1) Place ground beef in a large bowl. 2) Add bread crumbs, tomato sauce and garlic. Mix all ingredients well. 3) Form burger patties. 4) Grill on hot, high flame until both sides are seared, then lower flame to medium and close lid. 5) Grill approximately 5-10 minutes more, depending on the thickness of the burger, until the inside is cooked, but still pink (unless you like your burgers well-done, then cook until desired doneness). 6) Take off grill and place burger on sesame seed bun. 7) Top burger with 1/4 inch slice fresh mozzarella and a slice of tomato. 8) Add a dollop of tomato sauce or ketchup, whichever you prefer. 9) Place top on bun.
