Hawaiin Mahi Mahi Burger

I was introduced to this burger in Hawaii and it is out of your mind delicious. Sometimes though Mahi Mahi may be difficult to find and tuna can be substituted.


2 lbs finely chopped mahi mahi (or ahi tuna if not available)
2 finely chopped green scallions
1 tsp. wasabi (hot green mustard!)
2 tsp. soy sauce
1 tbs minced raw ginger
1 organic egg
1/3 cup Italian bread crumbs
2 tbs. Sutter Homes white zinfadel
1 tsp. fresh lime juice
salt and pepper to taste


Mix all the ingredients and form into patties. Grill over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes turning very carefully. I personally like this with a grilled whole wheat bun. Just dust the bun with a little extra virgin olive oil and brown for a minute or so.


You can eat this as is or serve with a little mayonaise. Absolutely fabulous when paired with thin slices of avocado and tomato!
