Hawaiian Honey Burgers

This is a sweet take on the average burger. A little different taste at first, but once all the flavors come together in your mouth, you cant help but eat another! This is a great recipe for a summer picnic.


You Will Need:

1/2 cup honey,
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon,
1/4 teaspoon paprika,
1/4 teaspoon curry powder,
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger,
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg,
2 pounds ground beef,
1/4 cup soy sauce,
1 can (23 ounces) sliced pineapple, drained.
6 large hamburger buns, split and toasted.
Lettuce leaves (optional).


In a bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Add beef over spice mixture and mix well. Shape into 6 large patties. Grill the burgers, uncovered, over medium-high heat for 3 minutes on each side. Brush each burger with soy sauce. Continue grilling for 4 to 6 minutes or until juices run clear, basting with soy sauce and turning several times. During the last 4 minutes of cooking, grill the pineapple slices until browned, turning only once. Heat rolls on grill till slightly crispy. Place burger and pineapple on buns and serve!


Serve burgers and pineapple on buns with lettuce if desired. No need for cheese! This is a sweet suculant burger great for a summer picnic.
