Greek Burger

This easy combo of ingredients satisfies a craving for gyros with yogurt sauce! Delish!


1 lb beef
1/4 tsp each dried basil and dried oregano
1/2 tsp garlic powder
salt and pepper
6 oz Plain yogurt
1/4 cup shredded cucumber
1/2 cup feta cheese
sliced onions
sliced tomato
4 Whole Grain hamburger rolls


In a bowl add beef, basil, oregano, garlic, salt and pepper. Mix lightly. Shape into 1/4 lb burgers. Let burgers chill for about an hour to allow flavors of spices to intensify. Grill to taste. Mix yogurt and cucumber together to make a sauce. Put lettuce on bottom of bun. Top with grilled burger. Top burger with Feta to taste, a dollop of the cucumber yogurt sauce and the tomato and onion. Finish with the bun top. Serve.


Feel free to add some fresh cucumber slices as well. This burger is especially fun to build in the summer when you can use so many fresh ingredients from your garden!!
