Fusion Burgers

Pairs well with:

Zinfandel

Bright and full-bodied, this Zinfandel wine is a curious contradiction in tastes.

Ingredients

Fusion Seasoning Formula Combine the below ingredients in a food processor and blend to a semi-coarse consistency. Pour the final product into an empty shaker spice bottle:-
1 package of Taco seasoning mix
1 package of Italian Dressing mix
1 package of Tomato with Basil soup mix
3 Tbs Black Pepper
3 Tbs roasted garlic powder
1 Tbs Accent
2 Tbs paprika
2 tsp ground coriander
2 tsp cumin
2 tsp dill weed
2 tsp silicone dioxide (optional; prevents caking)
Patties
2 pounds fresh ground chuck (80-20)
Fusion Seasoning:
Coarse ground black pepper
Name brand garlic powder
Salt
6 pre-sliced commercial wheat buns
Fresh tomato slices
Medium Vadalia Onion, sliced 3/16” thick

Instructions

Directions To make the patties, divide the ground chuck into six (6) equal portions. Spread the meat portions out gently on a long stretch of wax paper to expose as much surface area as possible. Sprinkle generously with black pepper, garlic powder and Fusion Seasoning. Gently fold the meat twice and form a 4” round patty that is slightly thinner on the inside. Avoid handling the meat as much as possible to avoid compacting it. Once formed, add a light final topping of the same three seasonings – black pepper, garlic powder and Fusion Seasoning. Prepare a gas grill to medium-high. When the grill is ready, place the patties on the rack, cover, and cook, turning once … about 5-6 minutes on each side for medium-well. Buns will be toasted on the inside and outside. In the final 2 minutes of cooking, place the cut buns – face down on the grill to toast them. Once the inside is toasted, turn over the bottom bun slice and place a cooked patty on it. Add the top of the bun and turn the burger over when the bottom bun is toasted on the outside. Once the top bun slice is toasted, transfer the burgers to a serving plate. Remove the bun tops, salt the burgers to suit; add ketchup, tomato slice, onion slice. Replace the bun tops and serve immediately. Makes 6 burgers Jerome, Fort Wayne, Indiana
