florentine burger on toasted garlic bread

With strawberry and melon essences, this American original is perfectly at home with however you like to unwind.

Ingredients

1 –pound of 90% ground beef
3 – green onions chopped
2–slices of bacon
2–slices of deli swiss cheese diced
1/2 cup sutter home white zinfandel
salt and pepper to taste

 

Instructions

cook bacon untill almost crisp—add onion saute 5 minutes—add chopped spinach- and wine -saute utill spinach is wilted and wine has evaporated–remove from burner and add pieces of swiss cheese– let sit. form 2 patties of ground beef being careful not to over handle –form them into 2 patties aprox 1 1/2" –2" thick . poke a small hole in top of burgers, gently form a small opening into the top of each burger and insert 1/2 of the spinach mixture into each burger. Close the top of each burger gently. sprinkle lightly with seasoned salt grill on low to med heat on gas grill. turn only after first side is brown and firm. serve open face on garlic toast, with salad or veggies.
