Downstate Turkey Rueben Burger

This wine is bursting with crisp, refreshing fruit flavors like apple, pear, and melon, making you want to swing your legs off a dock at sunset.

Ingredients

3 lbs ground turkey
1 medium red onion, finely diced (about 1 cup)
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon ground horseradish
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp fresh ground black pepper
olive oil for brushing
12 slices Havarti cheese
6 plain or rye Bagel Squares bread
6 tablespoons bottled Russian dressing
1 1/2 cups prepared store-bought coleslaw

 

Instructions

Preheat gas grill to 350 degrees.

To make burgers: Combine turkey, onion, garlic, horseradish, Parmesan, salt and pepper in large bowl. Mix well to incorporate all ingredients. Form mixture into 6 equal patties. Indent center of each patty with your thumb to prevent them from bulging.

Brush grill with olive oil, brush both sides of each patty with oil. Place burgers on grill and cook on first side approximately 7 minutes. Flip burgers and cook 5 minutes longer. Place two slices of Havarti on each burger. Brush sliced sides of bread with olive oil, place on grill. Cover and cook for an additional 3 minutes, until cheese is melted. Remove burgers and bread from grill.

Spread one tablespoon Russian dressing on each bottom slice of bread. Top with burger patty.Top burger with 1/4 cup coleslaw and remaining top slices of bread.
