Dave's burger

In quest of a lighter texture burger, I tinkered and chopped. I mixed and mashed. After 3 years of bad chemistry, I finally produced the ultimate burger. The hidden vegetables make this one a favorite of mom's everywhere.


2 lbs ground natural ground beef
3/4 c bread crumbs
1 T olive oil
1/2 onion chopped fine
1 red pepper chopped fine
2 carrots chopped fine
2T tomato paste
1t salt
1/2 t oregano
1/2 t black pepper
1 egg beaten


Saute onion, red pepper and carrots until they are soft. One can puree the vegetables now if there are picky eaters in the house. Mix vegetable mixture with all other ingredients. Make into patties and grill or freeze.


Served on a crusty roll with pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles this burger is a family favorite. Of course you'll need fries and a glass of Sutter Home Cabernet too.
