Ingredients

1. 1-1/2 pounds hamburger (regular, not lean)
2. 8 Saltine cracker squares, crushed to fine crumbs
3. 1 egg, beaten
4. 3 Tablespoons chile powder
5. 1 Tablespoon cocoa powder
6. 1 teaspoon cumin
7. 1-1/2 teaspoon salt
8. 1/4 cup minced onion
9. Three Horn or Ahaheim peppers, split in half and seeded
10. Six Kaiser rolls
11. Olive oil

Instructions

Place the hamburger in a mixing bowl. Add cracker crumbs, egg, chile powder, cocoa powder, cumin, salt and onions, and mix well. Shape into six patties. Oil the grill, and grill the patties until brown through, turning once part way through the grilling process (About three minutes per side; varies with the heat of the grill). Just before finishing, complete peppers and rolls as follows; or place to one side to keep warm while preparing peppers and buns. Place the split peppers on the grill until cookdc, one to two minutes. Before the peppers are done, Split the Kaiser rolls in half horizonally (if not already sliced). Brush with olive oil, and place on the grill to brown, 30 second to 1 minute. Compile the burger; place a burger on the roll, top with 1/2 a pepper, and serve.
