Chile con Queso Burger

Pairs well with:

White Zinfandel

With strawberry and melon essences, this American original is perfectly at home with however you like to unwind.

Ingredients

2 lbs. of Black Angus hamburger
2 tbs. seasalt
2 tbs. black pepper
1 clove fresh garlic (chopped fine)
2 ozs. garlic salt
16 slices of American cheese
32 rings of sliced pickled jalapeno
8 large sesame seed hamburger buns
8 ozs. mayonnaise
8 leaves of iceberg lettuce
2 large tomatoes sliced
2 large sweet onions sliced

 

Instructions

Build a charcoal fire allowing for high heat and brush grill with oil to avoid sticking. Add salt,pepper, and garlic to beef and pat into eight patties. Cook meat patties for 5-8 minutes, medium-well, and while cooking, sprinkle garlic salt on coals. Just before taking up the patties, add two slices of cheese to each patty, along with four pepper rings, on the cheese. Cover grill to melt cheese. Place patties around edge of grill to keep warm. Place fireproof griddle on fire and fry the cut side of buns in juice from patties. Apply mayonnaise to buns. Add lettuce, tomatoes, and onions to burgers and serve.
