The tomato doesn't go on top of these burgers . It is IN the sauce. So is the bacon. DELICIOUS! These large juicy all-beef burgers are seasoned with a commercial blend made just for hamburgers (the benefit of many seasonings in one tablespoon). I also added onion , oregano and garlic so I reduced the recommended 3 Tablespoons of McCormick Hamburger spice to 1 Tablespoon. Hence, the perfect burger!

8 bacon slices
1 cup diced tomatoes, seeds removed and patted dry with paper towels
1 cup mayonnaise
1 Tablespoon snipped fresh dill weed (or 1/2 tsp. dried dill weed) CELEBRATION BURGERS
3/4 cup onion, finely chopped
2 Tablespoons minced fresh oregano (or 1 tsp. dried oregano)
2 garlic cloves minced
1 Tab Hamburger seasoning
3 pounds ground round (80-85 % lean)
6 slices Monterey Jack cheese
6 kaiser rolls, split
6 large curly lettuce leaves

Make the Sauce. On the side gas grill burner, cook the bacon in a skillet. Drain the bacon and crumble into a small bowl.Add the tomatoes, mayonnaise, and dill weed. Mix gently and chill until ready to use. Make the burgers. Preheat gas grill. In a large bowl combine onion, oregano, garlic, and hamburger seasoning. Add the ground roundand combine thoroughly, handling as little as possible. form into 6 large rounds about 3/4 inch thick. Grill uncovered on medium-high gas grill for 5-7 minutes on each side, turning once and not pressing down. (Juices should run clear). Top each patty with a cheese slice and grill until cheese is slightly melted, about 1 minute more. Remove burgers to plate and let rest while rolls are toasted. Grill rolls cut side down for 1-2 minutes or until toasted. Spread sauce on bottom and top halves of rolls. Put lettuce on bottom half, top with a burger and top of bun. Enjoy!

I chose the name CELEBRATION BURGER because these burgers can make any occasion a cause to celebrate! They are winning burgers! Libby
