Blue Cheese Slaw Burgers

Burgers are a Texas favorite.And Texans love to grill. This burger adds delicious Blue cheese to the mix for a appetite pleasing meal!

Ingredients:

Blue Cheese Slaw:
10 oz pre-packaged slaw mix
1 green onions, thinly sliced
1/2 cup chopped purple onion
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup Kraft blue cheese dressing
1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese, divided
1 tablespoon Tonys Cajun spice
1 teaspoon course ground black pepper

2 Pounds ground beef (90% lean)
4 tablespoons softened butter
1/4 cup cooked bacon bits
1 tablespoon heavy cream
1 teaspoon each salt and pepper

6 wedges original laughing cow cheese
6 whole grain buns

Instructions:

Slaw

In a large glass mixing bowl, add mayonnaise, blue cheese dressing, sugar, vinegar, Tonys seasoning and pepper and mix well. Stir in green and purple onions and crumbled blue cheese. Add slaw mix and toss to coat well. Refrigerate until burgers are ready, about 30 minutes.

Burger

Preheat gas grill to medium heat. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, butter, bacon bits, heavy cream and salt and pepper. Mix to fully incorporate all ingredients. Form 6 patties. Place patties on the grill and cook 8 minutes on each side. Just before burgers are ready, toast buns on grill for 2 minutes.

Assemble:

Remove buns from grill and spread one wedge of laughing cow cheese on each bun. Place burger on bun. Top with 1/2 to 3/4 cup slaw and top with bun.
