Blue Cheese Burger

This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.

Ingredients

2 1/4 pounds of freshly ground sirloin
2 eggs
1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs
1/4 Teaspoon Sea Salt
2 tablespoons of Sutterhome Cabernet Sauvignon
1/4 pound of unsalted butter
1 tablespoon of cognac
1 Cup of Blue Cheese
Ciabbata Bread for 6 burgers
1 Red Onion
1 Head of Boston Lettuce
1 small jar of poupon mustard

 

Instructions

Preheat your gas grill to about 350 . Mix the following ingredients in a bowl: Ground Sirloin, bread crumbs sea salt,eggs and Wine (Cabernet Sauvignon) This mix will make 6-6 ounce burgers. Place the burgers on the preheated grill about 4-5 minutes on ecah side. Be sure to turn the burgers once in awhile so that they do not burn. While the burgers are cooking, heat the butter an a small pot and add the blue cheese to make a smooth paste. Remove the pot from the heat and blend in the Cognac. Place the burger on the bread and spoon the blue cheese mixure on to the burger add the mustard, lettuce, and onion slice .
