Ingredients

Patties
2 pounds ground chuck
4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons fresh ground pepper
Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 jar Danish Bleu Cheese in Oil
12 slices pumpernickel bread or a dense dark rye bread
1 jar Sweet and Sour Red Cabbage
1 can French Fried Onions

Instructions

Preheat a gas grill to medium-high heat, or prepare a medium-hot fire in a charcoal grill with a cover. To prepare the patties, mix ground chuck, Worcestershire sauce and pepper in a bowl. Be careful not to over handle the beef. Divide into 6 equal balls and then form into patties. Brush grill with Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil Place patties on grill and cook until juices come to the surface, about 6-8 minutes. Turn patties and continue grilling until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees- about 6 to 8 more minutes. While burgers are cooking, use a slotted spoon to place 24 to 30 Danish Blue Cheese cubes into a small bowl and smash. Set aside until burgers are ready. A few minutes before the burgers are done, place bread slices on the grill to toast. Toast bread 1 to 2 minutes on each side. Remove patties and bread from grill. Place patties on a slice of bread, top with approximately 2 tablespoons of sweet and sour red cabbage and 1 tablespoon of French Fried Onions. Spread the Blue Cheese on the remaining bread slices and top burgers. Makes 6 Burgers
