Best Burgers Ever

My boys have raised Market Beef for 4-H and we love hamburgers. I have tried for years to find a full flavored recipe and this one is a hit with the family as well as company even with Home Grown Beef!


1.5 lbs lean ground beef
2 tsp. powdered mustard
2 Tbl. liquid smoke seasoning
3 tsp. soy sauce
Salt to taste
Fresh Ground Pepper to taste


Bring beef to room temperature. Add remaining ingredients and mix well by hand. Form mixture into 4 to 6 patties depending on size desired. Heat grill to medium high heat. Place patties on grill and cook to desired doneness. Extra tip: Place patties on wax paper on cookie sheet. Place cookie sheet in freezer and freeze patties solid. When frozen, place patties with wax paper between in freezer bag. Now you're ready for your next impromptu BBQ!


Frozen patties work well on a hot grill. No more falling through the grate! When cooking frozen patties, place patties on hot grill then reduce heat to low. Cook a bit longer than fresh patties to be sure they are cooked through.
