The Sutter Home Build a Better Burger 2012 contest is accepting recipes now! Do you have that one killer burger recipe that is a surefire crowd-pleaser?  There are so many past winning recipes that we still talk about today, like the Soy-Glazed Salmon Burgers with Ginger Lime Aiolo from Kristine Snyder, who took home the 2001 Grand Prize.

My name is frank Rizzo, and I am chef owner of the italian pantry in cranford nj. I came across a contest for a "better burger" in this months issue of food and wine. Being a byob and using "leftover" wine bottles (90 percent of them being sutter home), in everyday cooking in the restaurant, I would like to enroll in the contest. How might one do so. 1 lb of ground sirloin
1 lb mild italian sausage

in large bowl place ground sirloin. then remove sausage meat from casings. place into bowl. mix thoroughly together. form meat mixture into one pound balls and then flaten into pattys. on a cutting board. place on to hot grill. and then grill on each side for three minutes. place onto king hawiian hamberger bun place a thick slice of american cheeseon top of burger. place shredded lettuce on top place bun top. then serve.
